白玉玉蝉,汉代

 

finely carved to the top with grooves to delineate the round head, pronounced eyes, lifelike wings and raised tail, the underside incised with fine markings in representation of the legs and horizontal strokes to highlight the lower abdomen, a perforation was drilled from the head through to the tail, suggesting it was used as a pendant, the stone of a pale celadon tone with attractive gold skin
